Nolan's Plan for New Mining Jobs

DFL 8th District congressional candidate Rick Nolan believes establishing a federal institute on mining and the environment will result in new jobs in northeaster MN.

Mining can create environmental problems, northeastern MN needs the jobs, yet environmental regulations can create delays.  Nolan says the institute could help the industry overcome production and environmental issues to create new jobs.

DFL rival Jeff Nelson feels differently.  The Duluth Councilman feels the institute would waste money and create no new jobs.  Another DFL challenger, Tarryl Clark, supports reduced regulations.
