Risky Business Raided Again

The Brainerd Police Department believes Risky Business Novelties on Washington Street is engaging in risky behavior.

Officers arrested owner Ronald William Beattie Junior of Baxter for selling a synthetic drug.  The 43-year-old man was taken into custody without incident after allegedly selling synthetic cannabinoids to an under cover officer.

Following the arrest, police seized 430 packages of the drug under the names of "Down 2 Earth," Mystic" and "Kush Max," with an estimated value of $15 thousand.

This is second time Beattie has been arrested since December for selling synthetic drugs.

First Ice

The recent string of cold December days has produced some good ice making conditions on area lakes.

DNR Conservation Officer Nikki Shoutz tells KLKS News, their advice is, the ice is never safe.  Still winter enthusiasts are venturing out on the new sheet.  She says she is seeing fish houses begin to gather.

Shoutz says channels are usually the last to freeze, and are never considered safe, even during the bitterest days.
