Koering Supports Medical Marijuana

The state legislature will consider legalizing medical marijuana this session. State Senator Paul Koering of Fort Ripley, supports it. He says his mother suffered nine months before she died of cancer. If she had requested it to help ease her pain, no one should object.
Senator Koering says he is not aware of any differences between medical marijuana and the street variety. And, he bristles at objections from law enforcement officials who claim, legalizing it would cause abuses. Governor Pawlenty has already said he opposes its legalization.
