How to Avoid Fraud When Investing

A stock market retreat, such as we are seeing now, often reveals the bad apples, according to Steven Hanson, Certified Financial Planner with Pine River Investment Services. He was referring to the ponzi schemes of Bernard Madoff and Tom Petters. He told KLKS News, a tip-off to fraud is investment plans that consistently show abnormal rates of return.
Hanson says the investment plans originally may have been legitimate.
