Howes Says St. Paul is in a Holding Pattern
Even though the state is facing a budget crisis, it has been quiet at the State Legislature recently. State Representative Larry Howes of Walker, says they are in a holding pattern, while they await the results of the updated budget forecast March 2nd, and the results of the Federal stimulus package. Howes tells KLKS News, if the Feds are going to have money for infrastructure, he hopes it can be spent on roads, bridges, hospitals and schools. He says Minnesota would be spending money on those things anyway, and people could be put back to work now. Howes hopes Minnesota gets back as much money from the Federal government as it sends to Washington. And, he hopes it is spent wisely to avoid harming future generations.
