More Eligible for the Earned income Tax Credit

Workers who have lost their jobs, or had their hours cut back, should consider filing for the Earned Income Tax Credit this year. Minnesota IRS spokesperson Carrie Resch says one out of four who qualify for the credit, fail to claim it. The income threshold for a married filer, with two or more qualifying children, is just under $42 thousand. For those without children, the threshold is just under $16 thousand.
