Fire Destroys Barn Near Brainerd

Dozens of dairy cows may be dead after a barn fire near Brainerd. The fire broke out early Friday at a farm run by Curt and Lori Kleinschmidt south of Brainerd. Between 60 and 70 cows may have been killed. The barn was destroyed. A damage estimate is not yet available. The state Fire Marshal's Office is helping to investigate the fire.
