The Rangers Advance at State Tourney

The Crosby-Ironton Rangers will play Plainview-Elgin-Millville in the semi finals of the Class double A basketball tournament following a 72-67 victory over Minnehaha Academy Wednesday.

The Rangers trailed the Redhawks by as much as 13 in the first half, and led by as much as 12 in the second half before winning 72-67.

The game was close in all facits of the game. The Rangers shot an even 50 percent for the game and the Redhawks shot 49 percent. C-I went to the free throw line more often and converted 18 of 26 attempts.

The Difference came on turnovers. The Rangers converted them into 26 points.

Senior forward Mark Hoge led the Rangers with 35 points, complemented by fellow seniors Sam Baker and Tyler Dickie who added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The tip-off for the Semi final against Plainview-Elgin-Millville will be 6 p.m., Friday at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
