Highway 10 in Little Falls scheduled to open to traffic
The Highway 10 bridge over the Mississippi River at the Little Falls bypass is scheduled to open to traffic on or before Saturday, March 27.
Crews are currently building temporary traffic crossovers on each end of the bridge and stabilizing the westbound lanes to allow traffic on the westbound lanes of the bridge. Eastbound lanes will remain closed. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction on the westbound lanes over the bridge.
The bridge was closed to traffic on Wednesday, March 17, due to damage from an ice jam in the main channel and erosion to the overflow bridge.
Emergency repair work on the bridge began Saturday, March 20, under an Emergency Order issued by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Under the Emergency Order, Mn/DOT officials have directed Lunda Construction Company of Black River Falls, Wis., to complete emergency repairs to the Highway 10 bridge.
