Runway Improvements for the Brainerd Airport

A federal grant will help the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport continue a major runway reconstruction project. The Federal Aviation Administration is awarding a grant of $3.3 million to help fund the second phase of the runway project. Congressman Jim Oberstar, Chairman of the powerful Transportation Committee says the construction project will create jobs in the short-term and leave the region better positioned for long-term economic growth.
Last year, the Brainerd airport received a total of $2.8 million in grants from the FAA to make runway improvements, upgrade the terminal building and purchase snow removal equipment.
