Firewood Restrictions

The US Army Corps of Engineers is restricting the use of firewood at its recreation sites to try to stop the spread of the emerald ash borer. The invasive bug hitchhikes on firewood transported in from somewhere else. The borer has killed more than 20-million ash trees in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Ontario. Minnesota has the third largest volume of ash timber in the country. The Corps said you can bring in firewood if you bought it within 100 miles of the campground at which you're staying.
