No Beer for C.W. Fair

The Crow Wing County Fair will remain beer-free. 

The Oak Lawn Township board voted unanimously to keep the suds out.

Fair Manager Steve Hesse says fair sponsorships have been on the decline during the sour economic times, and beer could help bring in much needed funds.  He said the beer garden would serve only beer and would be fully enclosed. 

However, the town board heard from others who worried about drunk drivers and keeping the fair a family event. 

The Crow Wing County Fair charges no admission for entrance.
