Hecker Will Soon Be Sentenced

(AP)  The attorney representing former auto mogul Denny Hecker is requesting no more than 8 years prison time.  Bill Mauzy says he ought to get credit for pleading guilty well in advance of a trial.

Prosecutors are asking for the maximum 10 years.  He is scheduled for sentencing February 11th in Minneapolis.

Mauzy wants Hecker to serve his time at the federal prison in Duluth where he can be treated for chemical dependency.

Hecker was the largest auto dealer in Minnesota before his down-fall, including two dealerships in Baxter, which have since been sold.
