Dr. Henry, Health Provider of the Year

Dr. Peter Henry, the Emergency Department Medical Director at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical and an emergency medicine physician, has been selected as Healthcare Provider of the Year by the Brainerd Jaycees, Brainerd Community Action and the Brainerd Dispatch. He will be recognized at the Jaycees’ Distinguished Service Awards ceremony on Nov. 18 at the Lodge in Baxter.

“Dr. Henry is regarded by his patients and his colleagues as an outstanding clinician. He never compromises his commitment to do what is best for his patients,” Jani Wiebolt, President of Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical, said in the nomination letter.

Dr. Henry, a Park Rapids native, came to the Brainerd Lakes area in 1998 to become the first physician to provide services at St. Joseph’s newly established Crosslake Clinic. In 2004, he left his Crosslake practice to work fulltime in St. Joseph’s Emergency Department. He is also Medical Director for Crow Wing County Public Health.
