Deer Success Good in Brainerd Area

The rifle deer hunting season is off to a good start in Minnesota, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

Pine River area Conservation Officer Nikki Shoutz tells KLKS news, more bucks are being registered.  She says with more lottery areas, hunters have to have a permit to take a deer without antlers.

Shoutz says the highest number of violations involve hunters who are not tagging their deer properly.
