C.W. Zoning Changes Proposed

The Crow Wing County Land Services Department is proposing revisions to the County Zoning Ordinance, which include new performance-based zoning standards for lake lots in Crow Wing County.

The revisions include changes in the county zoning districts, a reduction in the allowable impervious surface area, and in stormwater management.

The ordinance will serve as a foundation for the county's Future Land Use Map project. Public comment is being accepted through Friday. Comments may be submitted to the Crow Wing County Environmental Services at 322 Laurel St., Suite 14, Brainerd, MN 56401.

The County Planning Commission will consider the proposed ordinance revisions during a special meeting at 5 p.m. December 13 in the Crow Wing County Board Room in the Historic Courthouse in Brainerd.

This seems like a very quick move to make changes that will dramaticly effect the value and use of property in this area. Very little is known by the public about what may change and it is quite difficult to get this information. I do not like how this is being handled seemingly forced upon the public!
