Aitkin Gets New Sidewalks

The intersection at Highways 169 and 210 will be getting new sidewalks and pedestrian ramps. The work begins Monday. Judy Jacobs of the Baxter office of MNDOT says Motorists will encounter some delays when crews begin installing the new walkways to improve accessibility.

Motorists will be directed through the area where crews are working, on Highway 169 from the junction with Highway 47 to 1st Street and on Highway 210 from 8th Avenue to just east of the Ripple River in Aitkin.

The project will cost $300,000 and is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The project is scheduled to be completed prior to Memorial Day, weather permitting.
