Staples Police Issue "Scam" Warning

Police in Staples are receiving reports of phone scams in the area. The caller claims to be from local Staples banks such as Unity Bank and First International, asking for credit card information and numbers to verify banking information. They are also asking for this information for the purpose of lowering interest rates. Police warn that this is a scam and no information should be given to them. If you have given out any information to these callers already, be sure to notify your banking institution immediately. Law enforcement reminds everyone to never give personal banking information over the phone and report any suspicious calls to your local police or sheriff's office.
