Ice Fishing Extravaganza is On!

There is one benefit of bitterly cold weather, thick ice. Good ice conditions will allow the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza go on a scheduled this weekend.
Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl says they have measured 14 to 18 inches of ice on Hole in the Day Bay on Gull Lake.
Despite the gloomy economy, ticket sales are up for the contest that draws in anglers looking to win $150 thousand worth of prizes.
Proceeds go to area charities including The Confidence Learning Center.
