Brainerd Area Candidates File for Office

Now that the filing deadline has passed, we know who will be running for office this fall. Four candidates are running for the Crow Wing District one board seat currently occupied by the retiring Dewey Tautges. Two have filed in District five.
Legislative races are set too. House District 12A will feature incumbent DFL-er John Ward against challenger David Allan Pundt, a Republican. 12B will see incumbent DFL-er Al Doty against Republican Mike LeMieur. 4B will feature a contest between Republican incumbent Larry Howes against DFL challenger Meg Bye.
At the Federal level, Eighth District Minnesota Congressman James Oberstar will be challenged by Republican Michael Cummins.
