Snowmobile Weather is Here

With ice covered choppy roads facing lakes area motorists, some are switching to snowmobiles, according to DNR Conservation Officer Nikki Shoutz.   She says there are some roads where the snow machines are not allowed, including state and county roads.  Operators need to check with local officials about restrictions on city streets.

Shoutz says snowmobilers born after after December 31st, 1976, need to have a snowmobile safety certificate to operate a sled.

Operators are also reminded to yield the right of way to vehicular traffic.
