Sheriff Dahl Urges Care on icy Roads.

County Road 3 near Merrifield was the site of two vehicle accidents last Thursday.

55-year-old Deborah Pangburn of Merrifield was killed in Center Township shortly after noon in a head-on collision in which one vehicle crossed the center line.

The other was a multi-vehicle accident.  Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl tells KLKS News, a driver made a "U" turn to help another motorist who went into the ditch.  A string of cars braked when they spotted the maneuver.   That resulted in a pile-up.

Sheriff Dahl says it is always best to stop to lend assistance.  But, with care.

Sheriff Dahl says there was a lot of damage to the vehicles, but no injuries.
