Mille Lacs Fishing Prospects Improve

Anglers will have more chances to catch a wiley walleye on Lake Mille Lacs this year. The safe-harvest quota has been raised to 541,000 pounds after a slow bite last year. The new quota is 111,000 pounds more than 2008. Out of the total take last year, sport anglers hooked 76,000 pounds. The lack of action last year was attributed to an abundance of bait fish.
