The illegal drug trade around the Brainerd Lakes appears to be recession proof, according to Crow Wing County Captain Neal Gaalswyck. He tells KLKS News, people in the drug culture are resourceful, and turn to other means for getting money to supply their habits, including burglary and prostitution. Captain Gaalswyk says the Lakes Area Drug Investigation Unit remains busy with a $100-thousand drug bust just last week.
