The Cold Is No Barrier to Snowmobilers

Despite a bitterly cold January, snowmobilers have been enjoying the trails around the Brainerd lakes in good numbers, according to Crosslake DNR Conservation Officer Nikki Shoutz. She said violations in December were high, but have backed off this month. Shoutz reminds operators that anyone born after 1976 must have a snowmobile safety certificate. And, she reminds owners that they share joint responsibility with young operators who break the law.
