Baseball Camps at CLC
When they start talking baseball camps, can spring be far behind? Central Lakes College is hosting winter baseball camps for high school athletes February 8th through March 8th on the Brainerd campus.
Head Coach Joel Lofstrom said that pitchers and catchers will meet from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sundays and Thursdays in the campus gym, followed by hitters from 5:30 to 6:30.
Coach Lofstrom says camp participants will get a chance to throw twice a week. The emphasis will be on increasing arm strength and endurance prior to the high school season.
Pitchers will receive instruction on the mechanics of pitching. Catchers also will focus on the mechanics of catching.
Hitters will learn the basics of a short compact swing. Live hitting, tee work, and drill work will be done each week.
The fee for the Pitchers and Catchers Camp is $100 for registrants by Feb. 2 and $110 at the door. The Hitters Camp fee is $75 by Feb. 2 or $85 at the door.
