Landis-Gyr Make Layoffs

The struggling national economy is taking casualties in Pequot Lakes. Landis-Gyr formerly Hunt Technologies, has laid off an unspecified number of employees. The company employs about 200 in the area. A company spokesman says the move was made to streamline operations. Despite short term challenges, he says long term prospects remain bright for the company that pioneered the turtle electricity monitoring device.
