Level - Three Sex Offender Held

Level-Three sex offender, Robert Floyd Welch has been taken back into custody by the Cass County Sheriff's Office. He was recently released after his conviction was overturned by the Court of Appeals. Welch was picked up again yesterday after a petition was filed requesting that the District Court commit Welch as a sexually dangerous person and a sexual psychopathic personality. Welch, a Level-Three sex offender, was recently released from custody into the Pillager area after his conviction was overturned by the Court of Appeals. At hearing scheduled for today, the court will decide if Welch will continue to be held throughout the commitment process.
