MN High Court Travels to CLC

The Minnsota Supreme Court is coming to Brainerd Tuesday, October 11, 2011.  A dinner will be held with the justices in the cafeteria at Central Lakes College.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. A short program including information about the court system will take place. In addition, justices of the Supreme Court, judges from the Ninth Judicial District, and local officials will be on hand to visit with attendees.

Tickets for the community-wide event are being sold for $14.00 to cover the cost of dinner, which will include turkey, roast pork, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, a dinner roll, dessert and beverages.

The Supreme Court will also hear oral arguments of a real case in Tornstrom Auditorium in front of Brainerd High School students on Wednesday, October 12. This special program will give area students an opportunity to witness the Court at work and interact with the justices through several assembly and classroom opportunities scheduled throughout the day.
