Dayton Proposes New Jobs Through Bonding

Governor Mark Dayton is asking the legislature to approve a billion dollar bonding bill to create jobs now and stimulate economic growth throughout Minnesota.

Dayton proposes half the bonding in over 300 infrastructure projects.  The other half would be spent on projects targeted by the Legislature.

The Governor estimates the projects would create up to 28,000 jobs.

The proposal is getting a cool reception in the Republican controlled legislature, where lawmakers are opposing the spending package, and instead want to cut corporate taxes to spur construction jobs.
