No Long Lines for H1N1 Vaccine

A rush to get the swine flu vaccine never materialized at the National Guard Armory in Brainerd Monday. When they closed the doors on the clinic, The Crow Wing County Health Division still had more than half their allotment left.

The clinc was narrowed to those considered most vulnerable to the H1N1 virus: children 6 to 35 months old, their care givers and pregnant women.

Safety concerns over the vaccine may also have kept parents and their children away. Some bloggers have expressed concerns over future reproductive and cancer issues. However, Dr. Peter Henry, Crow Wing County Health Advisor, says those fears are groundless.

Dr. Henry says adequate supplies of the vaccine ought to arrive in the county before the end of the month.
