Mild Conditions for Hunters

Fields and woods around the Brainerd Lakes Area will turn to shade of blaze orange this weekend, for the start of the rifle deer hunting season. Meteorologist Tony Schumacher says hunters will find mild conditions. Temperatures around daybreak should be about 40, with highs in the upper 50's.

Schumacher suggests hunters dress in layers. He says dragging a deer any distance could become a steamy experience.

Temperatures will stay in the 50's Sunday, and cooling into the upper 40's for the beginning of the new work week, still above average for this time of year.
