Patrol Urges Gun Safety this Weekend

Last week a Buffalo woman was injured when a round from a high power rifle pierced her car, as she drove into town.

Minnesota State Patrol Sergent Curt Mowers tells KLKS News, hunters need to think about where a round could go, as they head off for the deer opener this weekend. He says most rounds from a tree stand will hit the ground. However, those fired from the ground could travel miles before they stop.

Mowers is also cautioning drivers to be on the look-out for deer bolting across the highways this weekend. He says it is often the deer that is chased out of the woods that causes highway accidents.
