Prosecutors Happy In Sjodin Appeal
The prosecutors in the Dru Sjodin case are hailing the decision of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. The federal panel has rejected the appeal from the attorney representing Alphonso Rodriguez Jr., convicted of killing the Pequot Lakes woman.
Lynn Jordheim, Acting U.S. Attorney for North Dakota says they are gratified, but know this is just one step in the appeals process.
One of the appeals judges dissented, saying the case should go back to the lower Court for further action. The defense is expected to use that dissent in their future appeals.
Still, Former U.S. Attorney Drew Wrigley said, "Make no mistake about it, this case has been upheld."
