Ojibwe Signs in Bemidji

(AP) Business in Bemidji will be a little more friendly to the Ojibwe. Dozens of shops will be posting various messages in the native American language. It is the idea of Shared Vision Group.

There will be Ojibwe signs identifying restrooms, a blessing at a funeral home, even a sign for computer repair.

Also participating will be Bemidji State university and North Country Hospital.

The word Bemidji is a shortened version of the Ojibwe word meaning, "Lake with cross waters."
