Police Hero Dies in Aitkin

(AP) A former Minneapolis police officer, who made his home in Aitkin, has died 12 years after his heroism saved a life. 36-year-old David Loeffler died Friday at home. He was injured in 1997 when he pushed a man out of the way of a drunken driver in Minneapolis. Family members says Loeffler died from long-term complications of his injury.
