Genmar Files for Bankruptcy
(AP) 600 boat building jobs were lost in Little Falls as Genmar Holding tried to deal with falling sales. Despite the cuts, company founder Irwin Jacobs says his company was forced into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Jacobs expects revenues will be off by more than 50% for the year ending June 30th, or about $460 million.
The boating industry has suffered from high gasoline prices and the recession.
