Aitkin Woman Killed In Car Crash

A crash on Interstate 35 near Sandstone on Monday has killed two people, one a 23-year old from Aitkin. The Minnesota State Patrol says the woman from Aitkin lost control of her Volkswagen Golf, which crossed the median into the Interstate's southbound lanes. The Golf struck a Ford truck driven by a 50-year old Duluth man. Both drivers were killed, but there were no other injuries. The crash happened about 7:00am on Monday. Authorities say the road was dry at the time. According to the State Patrol, killed in the crash were 23-year-old Crystal Wilcox, and 51-year-old Gregory Anderson.
