Buckman Feed Lot Pays Penalty
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has reached an agreement, with a Morrison County feed lot operator, that requires the company to pay 11,700 dollars for alleged feedlot violations at its facility near Buckman. The violations sited against Silverstreak Dairy included beginning construction and making modifications to storage and runoff areas without receiving approval from the MPCA. In making the modifications, the company did not follow set standards. MPCA staff inspections confirmed that there had also been an unreported discharge that did not reach any water bodies.
