The 2008 Governor's Walleye Fishing Opener returns to Breezy Point. And if you or your business would like to share your name or expertise, one possibility is to buy a sponsorship. Brainerd Lakes Chamber spokeswoman Cathy Schneider said sponsoring the opener reaches a whole new audience. Schneider said hundreds of media representatives are brought in from around the state and the country and they file stories for their home newspapers or broadcast outlets. Schneider said there is one event that includes local people and that's the picnic Friday afternoon before the opener at Pequot Lakes' Trailside Park.
