Moose Pemits Down

(AP)  It appears likely the DNR will cut the number of moose hunting permits in half for the fall season. 

Wildlife Manager Tom Rusch in tower says it is unclear why population numbers are dropping.  But, the decline have prompted consideration of cutting the number of permits from 212 last year to a little more than 100 this year.  Some have speculated that climate change may be the cause of the declines.
