MPCA With Happy Septic Tips

Don't be so fast to burn those leaves.  The Minnesota Pollution Control agency says they can be used to prevent your septic from freezing this winter.  Steven Mikkelson, spokesman in the Brainerd office of the MPCA says it only takes a few inches of autumn leaves over the tank and speptic field to prevent a winter headache.

Mikkelson says straw works well too.  He also recommends pumping the septic tank regularly.
