Local Man Keeps Dead Bear

(AP)  A Fifty Lakes man will be able to keep a bear carcass after all.

R. James Swenson found the expired bruin on his farm in 2007.  He brought it in to the taxidermist, and asked his lawyer to inform the DNR.  The DNR confiscated the animal, and issued a warning.

Swenson sued claiming he had a property interest in the animal.  An appeal panel sided with Swenson, saying game laws don't restrict a person's possession of animals that die naturally on private property

About time the gestapo types at the DNR are set back a notch---too bad more cannot be done to control their antics.
