Otremba Retires from the State House

A local legislator follows others into the ranks of the retired at the end of this session. Mary Ellen Otremba of Long Prairie says she will not run for reelection.

The DFL-er becomes the 22nd state lawmaker to step down at the end of the current term.

Otremba succeeded her late husband in 1997. Her conservative district includes Staples. She has been a consistant anti-abortion vote.
