Scams on the Increase

Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl says he is getting an increase in the number of scams reported. He says the scams often request money to get a loved one out of a foreign country and to the U.S. Often they prey on sympathies for the military.

Sheriff Dahl says these crimes are difficult to investigate, because they often cross international borders. He says once they narrow where the headquarters are, the culprits have already left. Dahl says it's best to donate money locally to known charities.
