Koering says The Deficit Can Wait Until February

State Senator Paul Koering of Fort Ripley is happy to hear that Governor Tim Pawlenty is willing to wait until the legislature reconvenes in February before dealing with the projected revenue shortfall. Revenue officials are projecting a $1.2 billion shortfall through June 2011.

Koering says the efforts of 201 legislators and the Governor are needed to solve the problem. The Republican said unallotment might be a good idea at the end of the biennium, but not now.
