Lake Quality Conference in Walker

Several key state legislators are expected to attend the north central region's second annual Healthy Lakes Legislative Forum on Friday in Walker. Local lake and water experts will talk to lawmakers about invasive species, shoreland management, septic compliance and land conservation.

Sen. Mary Olson, Bemidji, will moderate the event and says the forum is an important opportunity for lawmakers to learn about local efforts to protect the state’s waters.

The forum will be held at the Northern Lights Casino in Walker beginning at 1:15 p.m. The entire event is open to the public and admission is free.
