Gardeners Cautioned about Planting Too Early

Meteorologist and gardener Tony Schumacher says the frost season isn't over yet around the lakes, so gardeners should be cautious. He says the frost season can run into June, but typically passes by mid May. The next chance of frost is this weekend.
Schumacher says a good choice for early season plantings are potatoes, peas, broccoli and spinach. Gardeners may wish to wait on flowers, tomatoes and peppers.
