Bear Success Unchanged

The bear hunting season has been a disappointment so far this year, according to DNR Area Wildlife Manager Gary Drotts.

He tells KLKS News, he expected a bigger harvest based on the number of homeowner complaints about the bruins.   He says they were receiving about 2-5 complaints a day in August, as bears foraged for food because their traditional sources were scarce.

Drotts says the bear harvest is about the same as last year.
